Doyle McCullar Fine Interiors

Granger Residence: Dallas, TX

Richard Granger, restaurateur and principal of a Dallas Law firm, shared my love of mid-twentieth century modern furnishings, aesthetics and architecture. His only request was that I incorporate several original production Eames pieces that he inherited from his father, into his new high-rise apartment.

For the living area, we re-upholstered the Eames sofa and then had the finish on the molded plywood table brought back to its original luster. We brought in a new lounge and ottoman and a Noguchi coffee table. We also had an original pair of Risom chairs "re-webbed" and used them to compliment the rest of the ensemble. The large Japanese-style woodcut prints-as well as the rest of the art work-are all from local art galleries.

In the dining room we anchored an oval Saarinen dining table and Frank Gehry chairs with a solid crimson rug. We then added a pair of Knoll credenzas for symmetry and storage behind a backdrop of aubergine draperies.

We kept the same cool and sexy color scheme for the rest of the flat, and added other timeless, refined works of art and accessories to finish off the look.
